How Medigap switching works in Missouri

Missouri has an anniversary rule for Medigap. Each year, around your policy anniversary, you can switch to the same Medigap plan letter with a different carrier without medical underwriting. That makes it one of the friendlier states for shopping your rate every year. Outside that window, and outside your original six-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period, health questions usually apply.

Pinnacle Insurance Advisors is licensed in Missouri. Our independent advisors compare Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage, and Part D options available where you live, explain the trade-offs in plain English, and help you enroll, all at no cost to you. Most Missouri clients work with us entirely by phone.

Missouri regulators spell the rule out: you can move to the same lettered plan with a different insurer if you apply within 30 days before or after your policy's annual anniversary date, and for that switch the new insurer cannot deny you coverage or impose a waiting period for pre-existing conditions. Showing minimal proof of your current policy, such as a renewal notice or invoice, is enough to qualify.

State rules change. We confirm the current rules before any application, and Medicare.gov is the official federal resource.

New to Medigap? Start with how Medicare Supplement plans work, including the two most popular choices, Plan G and Plan N.
